Delete project items
It is a good idea to make a backup copy of your project before you delete project items from your project.
If you accidentally delete a project item, use the 'undo' function to reverse your action. If you are working in a server project, you can only undo changes that do not conflict with another user's actions.
To delete a project item:
-
In Navigation View, click the name of the folder that contains the item you want to delete.
-
In the List View, click the item you want to delete.
-
On the Home tab, in the Editing group, click Delete.
-
Click Yes to confirm.
NOTE
-
If you are working in a server project, you cannot delete a source or map that another user has open in edit mode.
-
If you delete a source, then any annotations, see also links and coding references associated with the source are also removed.
-
If you delete a node, then any coding references associated with the node are also removed.
-
If you delete a source classification, then any sources with that classification are no longer classified, and their attribute values (for example, bibliographical information about your sources) are removed. (NVivo Pro and Plus only)
-
If you delete a case classification, then any cases with that classification are no longer classified, and their attribute values (for example, demographic information) are removed.
