Rename projects
This topic explains how to change the project title (the title appears on reports provided with NVivo) and how to change the name of a standalone or server project.

Change the title of a project

Open the project.

Click the File tab, and then click Project Properties.
The Project Properties dialog box opens.

On the General tab, in the Title box, enter a new title for the project.

Click OK.
NOTE In server projects, only Project Owners can change the project title and other project properties—refer to Collaborate in a server project for more information.
Change the file name of a standalone project
If you have a standalone project, saved to your local computer or a network drive as an .nvp file, you cannot change the file name of the project from within NVivo—use the Windows file system to locate and rename the .nvp project file.
NOTE You can view the file name within NVivo in the Project 's Properties (General tab).
Change the project name of a server project
- If the project is currently open, close the project.
- Click the File tab, click Manage, and then click Rename Server Project.
The Rename Server Project dialog box opens.

Click Browse.
The Select Rename Project dialog box opens.

In the Connection name box, select the server hosting the project.

In the Project files box, select the project that you want to rename.

Click OK.

On the Rename Server Project dialog box, enter the new name for the project in the New name box.
